Elk Grove Mayor to Hold Charity Bocce Ball Tournament Serve Elk Grove  

ELK GROVE, CA – Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis will be hosting a bocce ball tournament on Saturday, August 31, 2103, at RauPark in Elk Grove, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Rau Park is located at 8795 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA  95624. 

            Net proceeds from the tournament will benefit Serve Elk Grove.  Serve Elk Grove is the hub for connecting people with needs by making it easy to both find service project opportunities and to post service needs.  Additionally, Serve Elk Grove works cooperatively with other nonprofit organizations in Elk Grove to identify opportunities to share resources and opportunities. In many ways, Serve Elk Grove is a, “One Stop Shop” for getting involved in important Elk Grove causes. Serve Elk Grove is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. 

Teams of four, in four different categories, men’s, women’s, mixed and family, will play for 1st and 2nd place prizes.  The cost is $100 per team which includes the entry fee and luncheon.  Sponsorships are also available.

“Bocce ball is a fun game that everyone can enjoy, and it is a game for all ages, gender and athletic ability.  I couldn’t think of a better way to host a new kind charity fundraiser for a great cause than by our community coming together for a fun event,” states Davis.
